As part of “AbbVie Singapore’s Disease and Product Awareness Week”, an internal staff educational event held in August 2021 covering AbbVie’s portfolio of products, Dr. Terence Tan was invited to speak to 380 AbbVie Singapore staff via a webinar to cover patient trends in the current medical aesthetic landscape as well as provide insight on anti-ageing and facial sculpting treatments using Botox and Juvederm dermal fillers. Dr. Terence Tan also explained the science behind CoolSculpting, how it is done, how does it work, and the result one can expect after the non-invasive no downtime fat removal treatment.
Dr. Terence Tan is the Medical Director of Halley Medical Aesthetics and Halley Body Slimming. He was the only external speaker for the 2 August programme for AbbVie’s staff education event, and the only speaker to discuss medical aesthetics.
Recently in May 2021, Dr. Terence Tan was also the keynote speaker for the “Juvederm Expert Forum”, a webinar organised by Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) that was attended by 104 aesthetics doctors via Zoom from Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Dr. Terence Tan set the tone for the event by talking about the science behind dermal fillers.
“I would just like to say that the feedback has been extremely positive and I think there were a lot more questions people had for Dr. Tan but unfortunately time didn’t allow!” said Jen Pain, CoolSculpting Area Brand Lead for JAPAC for Allergan Aesthetics. She was commenting on the response of Dr. Terence Tan’s presentation for the “AbbVie Singapore’s Disease and Product Awareness Week”.
Dr. Terence Tan had presented at various global meetings and medical conferences for aesthetic doctors to share his knowledge and experience. This included the “Body Contouring with Emotional Attributes” at the Allergan Aesthetics Symposium in December 2020 and the Saxenda Webinar for Aesthetic Doctors 2021 in March 2021.
Dr. Terence Tan has also been a member of several medical aesthetic and healthcare advisory boards and committees, including various Allergan Aesthetics advisory boards for CoolSculpting and its studies. His research findings in a global multi-centre clinical trial on CoolSculpting titled “High Participant Satisfaction Achieved Using Cryolipolysis for Fat Reduction of the Abdomen and Flanks” was also presented in many medical conferences worldwide like the US, Japan, Monaco, Dubai, and Spain.
Additionally, Dr. Terence Tan is an advisor for various pharmaceutical companies including Novo Nordisk, the pharmaceutical company behind Saxenda, and Allergan.
