Laser Skin Rejuvenation

What is laser skin rejuvenation?

Lasers can fight everything from pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and acne scars, to large pores and uneven skin texture so that you look fresh and rejuvenated. Lasers can also bring a glow back to dark, dull-looking skin by removing the top layer of unhealthy, dead skin cells.

Non-Ablative Lasers

Non-ablative lasers work by stimulating collagen production beneath the skin’s surface without causing damage to the outer layers. This process involves targeting deeper skin layers to encourage the body’s natural healing processes, leading to gradual improvements in skin texture, tone, and elasticity. Non-ablative lasers are commonly used for collagen stimulation, skin tightening, and pigmentation and vascular issues.

Ablative Lasers

Ablative lasers work by removing the outer layers of the skin through controlled heat to “ablate skin cells. This process reveals fresher, smoother skin underneath and stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers. Ablative lasers are commonly used for surface rejuvenation, scar treatment, and deep pigmentation.

Which One Is for You?

Non-ablative lasers are ideal for those seeking gradual, non-invasive rejuvenation with minimal downtime. They are suitable for those with mild to moderate skin concerns.

However, if you are aiming for more dramatic results and can afford a bit of downtime, ablative lasers offer a more intensive treatment. They are recommended for individuals with significant skin damage, deep wrinkles, or more pronounced pigmentation issues.

How do I know which laser skin rejuvenation treatment is for me?

Lasers are effective for rejuvenating targeted parts of the face, like the neck and even the eye area. But not all lasers are the same, so it is important to get the right laser for your needs.

At Halley Medical Aesthetics, we have a wide range of lasers from both the non-ablative and ablative categories for a no downtime and non-invasive way of rejuvenating your skin.

Laser treatment for skin lumps

Our skin may develop lumps, bumps, or coloured spots such as moles. It is best to have them examined by a doctor to make sure they do not require medical attention. Once they are determined to be benign, lasers are effective for their removal. Skin lumps such as milia, syringoma, and moles are effectively removed with lasers.

Fotona4D Laser

Halley’s 4D Lifting Laser pairs two complementary laser wavelengths to treat four distinct “dimensions” of the skin to rejuvenate and restore youthfulness to the skin from the inside out. What is unique about this laser skin rejuvenation treatment is that it uses four dimensions (4D) or four steps of lifting, treating both the exterior facial skin and interior oral cavity for a natural-looking, long-lasting lift.

PicoSure Pro Laser

Halley is one of the few clinics in Singapore with two pico lasers – Fotona PQX Picolaser (Pico Laser 532/1064 nm) and PicoSure Pro Laser (Pico Laser 750nm).

Downtime is almost minimal since there is little or no heat involved which would damage the skin. It is not just suitable for overall face rejuvenation but can also be used to target wrinkles around the eye and rejuvenate the neck area too.

The Fotona PQX Picolaser also effectively covers the range of treatments that the Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser is traditionally used for.

Fotona SmoothEye Laser

The Fotona SmoothEye® treatment utilises the Er:YAG laser beam to tighten loose skin and wrinkles around the eye. The treatment is unique as the inner mucosal layer of the lower eyelid is also treated directly, thereby tightening the ligaments of the lower eyelid. This improves the appearance of eyebags under the eyes and also reduces wrinkles and loose skin around the eyes.

Fraxel Dual Laser

The Fraxel Dual laser uses a focused beam of light for skin rejuvenation and reducing skin irregularities like scars or blemishes. This laser is able to improve skin texture, attack brown spots and scars, and stimulate collagen production. And being a non-ablative laser that tackles only the deeper layers of the skin while leaving the surface layer intact, the Fraxel Dual Laser promotes new skin growth from inside out, offering faster healing, optimal results with less redness, and less downtime than ablative lasers. It can be used to target problem spots under the eye and for neck rejuvenation too.

Long-Pulsed Laser

This versatile, no downtime laser can be used to improve skin texture as well as tighten the skin for the face and neck. It addresses enlarged pores by clearing and rejuvenating pores. Only problematic spots are targeted without harming the surrounding tissue. In a separate treatment mode, the Long Pulsed Laser firms the skin through stimulation of collagen production through cells in the skin called fibroblasts. The laser also targets haemoglobin within the blood vessels, removing fine veins and redness caused by inflammation and acne.

Laser facial treatments offer a range of benefits for skin rejuvenation, making them a popular choice in Singapore. These treatments target specific layers of the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, improving skin texture, and providing a more youthful appearance.

Key advantages:

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, laser skin rejuvenation treatments are generally safe when performed by qualified doctors. In Singapore, many clinics, like ours, adhere to stringent safety standards to ensure the well-being of each and every client.

Laser facial treatments can lead to noticeable improvements in skin texture, tone, and elasticity. You’ll likely see a reduction in fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation issues, resulting in a more youthful and radiant complexion.

This depends on your specific skin concerns and the type of laser rejuvenation treatment. Typically, multiple sessions are recommended for the best results. For instance, non-ablative lasers might require three to six3-6 sessions, while ablative treatments may need fewer sessions but involve a longer recovery period. Our doctor will tailor a treatment plan according to your skin’s needs.

Laser facial treatments in Singapore often come with minimal downtime. Non-ablative lasers usually cause mild redness or swelling that subsides within a few hours to a couple of days. Ablative lasers may require more recovery time as they remove the outer layers of skin. However, any side effects are generally temporary and manageable with proper aftercare. Your doctor will provide guidance on how to care for your skin post-treatment to ensure optimal healing.

Laser skin rejuvenation treatments are generally safe for a wide range of skin types. However, certain laser technologies are more suitable for specific skin tones. For example, non-ablative lasers are often recommended for darker skin tones to minimise the risk of pigmentation issues. Our doctor will assess your skin type to determine the most appropriate treatment.
