Driven by his passion to help people uncover their confidence through safe, effective, and non-invasive medical aesthetic treatments, Dr. Terence Tan founded Halley Medical Aesthetics in 2013 and Halley Body Slimming Clinic in 2019. Under his leadership and commitment to achieve optimal treatment outcome, Halley Medical Aesthetics was awarded the “Golden Record Award” by Merz Aesthetics in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2023 for Ultherapy skin tightening treatment. Both clinics also clinched three awards from Allergan Aesthetics in 2022, 2023, and 2024 for the following awards: “Prestige Award”; “Body Contouring Diamond Award” for achievements in body contouring; and “Facial Aesthetics Gold Award” for achievements in facial aesthetics. The Prestige Award is awarded to aesthetic clinics that have clinched both the Body Contouring and Facial Aesthetics awards of which the clinic secured the top two tiers–Diamond and Gold–respectively.

Dr. Terence Tan is actively involved in research that will advance the care and treatment outcome of medical aesthetic treatments. He is currently a reviewer of medical manuscripts submitted for publishing in Aesthetic Surgery Journal (ASJ), a peer-reviewed international journal by The Aesthetic Society focused on scientific developments and clinical techniques in aesthetic surgery. ASJ is also the official English-language journal of many major international societies of plastic, aesthetic, and reconstructive surgery representing South America, Central America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It is also the official journal of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and The Rhinoplasty Society.

He is also personally interested in the use of CoolSculpting for body contouring. Dr. Terence Tan has conducted two cryolipolysis studies in Singapore at Halley Body Slimming Clinic, and his research has been presented in international meetings from Monaco and Spain to Japan, China, and the Middle East.

His study, “High Participant Satisfaction Achieved Using Cryolipolysis for Fat Reduction of the Abdomen and Flanks”, was published in the ASJ in December 2021. Dr. Terence Tan was also one of the authors for the 2023 study “Prospective, Multi-Country, Post-Marketing Study With Novel Dual-Applicator Cryolipolysis System.” This study was presented to the medical community during the 2023 CoolSculpting Elite launch in Singapore and Thailand.

Dr. Terence Tan was also a member of several medical aesthetic and healthcare advisory boards and committees, including the Allergan Aesthetics Body Contouring Complication Advisory Board, Allergan Aesthetics Cryolipolysis Best Practices Advisory Board, and Allergan Aesthetics Clinical Study Plans and Data Gaps Advisory Board.

He has been a speaker in many medical conferences and is an advisor for various pharmaceutical companies including Allergan and Novo Nordisk.

Prior to setting up the Halley group of clinics, Dr. Terence Tan was the General Manager for the Specialist and Primary Care Division of Healthway Medical Group and Acting Vice President (Business Development) for the Parkway Shenton medical group.

Dr. Terence Tan has a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and Master of Medicine (Surgery) from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He obtained his surgical qualifications with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2003.
