What is Long-Pulsed Laser?

The Long-Pulsed Laser is a versatile, no downtime laser often used by doctors for a variety of concerns from skin rejuvenation to hair removal and vein removal.

 

What is the Long-Pulsed Laser used for?

The Long-Pulsed Laser is a non-ablative laser that penetrates deep into the skin to target only problematic spots without harming the skin’s surface regardless of skin type. It is most popularly known as the laser behind the Fotona4D laser treatment in Singapore, which treats four distinct “dimensions” of the skin for a natural-looking, long-lasting lift.

How does it work?

The Long-Pulsed Laser uses two complementary laser wavelengths – 1064nm and 2940nm, creating heat which is absorbed by our skin. This triggers our skin to react in a way we want to in order to address the problem.

 

Skin rejuvenation

The Long-Pulsed Laser treats skin laxity by stimulating fibroblasts in our skin to produce collagen. The result is the firming and rejuvenating of loose skin.

Pore size reduction

When our skin is tightened and firm, pore size is reduced as a result. When this happens, our skin texture improves.

Hair removal

The Long-Pulsed Laser targets hair follicles to remove unwanted body hair. It delivers long pulses of light which are absorbed by hair follicles. The light then turns into heat that destroys the unwanted hair.

Skin rejuvenation

The laser’s Nd:YAG laser light safely penetrates our skin to effectively target overactive sebaceous glands and reduce the risk of developing new acne inflammation.

For active acne, the Long-Pulsed Laser reduces acne inflammation through photoselective absorption and controlled heating effects. Its high-powered Nd:YAG laser selectively destroys overactive sebaceous glands to help keep acne under control.

The laser treatment also accelerates the healing process and stimulates collagen remodeling, which is important in the long-term treatment of acne and prevention of acne scars.

Lightens acne scars

The Long-Pulsed Laser’s Er:YAG laser wavelength offers a targeted yet gentle ablative scar revision treatment.

The Er:YAG laser safely and lightly resurfaces acne-scarred skin to improve skin texture and tone. Under this mode, the Long-Pulsed Laser gently vaporises micron-thin layers of the acne-scarred surface to reveal healthy, undamaged skin below.

Removes facial and leg veins

Laser energy is delivered using long pulses during the Long Pulsed laser treatment, which are converted into heat in the tissue. This laser energy is selectively absorbed by the deeper levels of the dermis, which allows doctors to treat deeper vascular lesions like spider veins, haemangiomas (strawberry mark), and leg veins.
