Dermal fillers in Singapore are made of safe ingredients that have been developed for injection into the skin. Many of these face fillers in Singapore contain hyaluronic acid, which is a natural compound found in our body that helps to hydrate and add volume to our skin.
What do dermal fillers do?
Plump up skin to replace volume loss due to ageing
Contour and shape the face to enhance and add definition to our facial features.
You can go about your daily tasks immediately after treatment
Dermal fillers are a popular aesthetic treatment in Singapore, designed to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. It involves the use of injectable substances that are biocompatible with the body. These fillers are typically composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin that attracts and retains moisture, or other materials such as calcium hydroxylapatite or poly-L-lactic acid.
When injected into targeted areas of the face, dermal fillers work by replenishing lost volume and stimulating collagen production. This helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, such as those around the mouth and eyes, and enhances the contours of the face, including the cheeks and jawline. The result is a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
Ageing causes bone resorption, which results in facial volume loss. Our skin also grows less supple and elastic, so the combined effect is saggy and lax skin that creates a gaunt and aged appearance over time.
Types of Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Fillers (Juvéderm, Restylane, Belotero)
Collagen-Stimulating Fillers
Calcium Hydroxylapatite Fillers (Radiesse)
Poly-L-Lactic Acid Fillers (Sculptra)
A common use for dermal fillers is for V shape face contouring in Singapore. With 3D projection, a combination of dermal filler techniques is used for the nose, cheek, chin, and other areas of the face for V shape face contouring. Dermal fillers can be combined with facelifting treatments such as Ultherapy® in Singapore, and jaw slimming treatments with botulinum neuromodulators for the desired V shape face.
Dermal fillers in Singapore are generally classified into hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen-stimulating or non-hyaluronic acid fillers.
Doctors use various techniques, such as the application of numbing cream and ice packs, as well as usage of the “Magic Needle”, to ensure your dermal filler treatment is comfortable.
The “Magic Needle”, also known as the micro-cannula, is a blunt, flexible wire that slides easily under the skin to apply the dermal filler.
Firstly, it fills the treated area more evenly and naturally. It also minimises bleeding and lowers the chances of complications. It is thus safer, with fewer possible side effects, due to it requiring only one injection point compared to the traditional multiple injection points.
This depends on the type of dermal fillers used and the area in which it is applied. Hyaluronic acid face fillers typically last up to one to two years, whereas collagen-stimulating and non-hyaluronic acid fillers last longer.
If you stop using dermal fillers, your skin will gradually return to its natural state as the filler material is absorbed by the body. This process typically occurs over several months to a year, depending on the type of filler used. Rest assured that your skin won’t look worse than before you started treatments. In fact, the collagen stimulation from fillers may leave your skin in a slightly better condition than it was initially.
No, dermal fillers are a temporary solution, and their effects gradually diminish over time. If you choose to stop treatments, your face will slowly revert to its pre-treatment appearance. However, many people opt to maintain their results with periodic touch-ups to keep their desired look. The decision to continue is entirely up to you and can be adjusted based on your evolving aesthetic goals.
