Tattoo Removal

How to remove tattoos in Singapore?

Laser tattoo removal is the most common and popular method of removing tattoos in Singapore as it is effective. Pico lasers, such as PicoSure Pro Laser and Fotona PQX Picolaser (Pico Laser 532/1064 nm), and the Q-Switched Nd:YAG laser are laser machines that can treat a variety of ink colours.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

We use Fotona PQX Picolaser (Pico Laser 532/1064 nm) in place of the Q-Switched Nd:YAG Laser and Pico Laser for tattoo removal. That allows us to deliver three different laser wavelengths of 532nm, 755nm, and 1064nm.

Laser tattoo removal in Singapore makes use of these three wavelengths to treat different tattoo ink colours effectively:

532nm wavelength

Effectively treats “sunset colors” (e.g. red, yellow, and orange) which are typically hard to correct

755nm wavelength

Targets black, blue, and green ink colours

1064nm wavelength

Effective in treating black ink on patients with darker skin types

FAQs

The Pico Laser and Fotona PQX Picolaser treatments have minimal to no downtime as the lasers penetrate deep into the skin layers without affecting the surface of the skin.

Each treatment session breaks down the tattoo ink pigments into smaller particles until they are small enough to be absorbed by the lymphatic system and eliminated naturally. Hence, typically three to six sessions may be needed depending on the complexity and size of the tattoo. Please consult a doctor as they will be able to advise you more accurately upon skin analysis.

Each treatment session may take 15-30 minutes to complete depending on the area of treatment. Numbing cream is applied on the skin for about 20 minutes before the procedure to make the experience more comfortable.

Minimal post treatment care is required. The treated area may look flushed immediately after the laser treatment for a few hours. While you may resume normal activities, please minimise sun exposure for a week and apply sunblock daily.

You may experience hypopigmentation (a lightening in skin colour on the treated area) but this is temporary. Consult the doctor should this happen and they will advise you on the next course of action.
