What is Profhilo?

Profhilo injectable skin moisturiser, now available in Singapore, is an anti-ageing treatment which bio-remodels mature skin. Hence, it is a powerful treatment that not only hydrates and rejuvenates the skin, but also lifts ageing and sagging tissue.

How does Profhilo work?

Profhilo contains ultra pure hyaluronic acid at 64mg/ml, the highest concentration in the market. Unique to fillers or skin boosters, Profhilo comprises of stable cooperative hybrid complexes of high and low molecular weight HA.

High molecular weight has provide a “Lift effect” by enhancing the HA architecture of the dermis while low molecular weight has give a “Hydro effect” by hydrating and volumising the skin.

What to expect during Profhilo treatment?

To minimise discomfort, numbing cream is first applied to the treatment area and left on for about 15 minutes. An ice pack will also be placed on the injection points to further numb the area during treatment.

The treatment involves a unique technique where Profhilo is injected to just 10 strategic Bio Aesthetic Points on the face (5 injection points on each side of your face). This technique avoids blood vessels or nerves, minimising the chance of bruising while maximising results.

How many sessions of Profhilo do I need?

Treatment with Profhilo typically comprises two sessions one month apart. It can also be combined safely and synergistically with other treatments like Ultherapy, rejuvenating lasers, and dermal fillers to enhance the volumising and lifting effect, as well as improve skin tone and texture.

Results are generally seen from about one month after the Profhilo treatment and lasts between six months to a year.

 

Profhilo is neither a dermal filler nor a skin booster, and it tends to be associated with the popular anti-ageing treatment, Rejuran Healer. They are both anti-ageing treatments, however, there are a few notable differences that make them synergistic treatments rather than similar treatments.

 
  • Profhilo’s key ingredient is its hyaluronic acid complexes; PDRN’s key ingredient is polynucleotides (PN).
  • Profhilo primarily hydrates the skin and bio-remodels ageing and sagging skin for a lifting effect; Rejuran Healer primarily improves the regeneration of skin, speeds up skin healing and recovery, and strengthens the skin barrier.
  • Profhilo bio-remodels the skin to increase collagen and elastin for improving skin laxity; Rejuran Healer stimulates the skin’s fibroblasts to stimulate collagen production for improving skin elasticity.
  • Profhilo is injected to 10 strategic Bio Aesthetic Points on the lower face and upper neck; Rejuran is injected to the whole face.

As Profhilo is a minimally-invasive, no downtime treatment, minimal post treatment care is required and you may resume normal activity immediately after. You may also notice small bumps over the injection points but these will subside over the next one to two days. Needle marks, mild redness, and bruises may occur. However, these will resolve rapidly and can be easily concealed with makeup.
