How does PicoSure Pro Laser work?

PicoSure Pro Laser’s PressureWave technology uses a unique wavelength of light (755nm) and a specialised lens to convert laser energy into gentle pressure. This pressure squeezes cells, activating the natural cell signalling processes that create new collagen and elastin without burning or damaging the skin.

The result is brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin with very minimal downtime compared to other similar lasers.

How does PicoSure Pro Laser work?

What to Expect During a PicoSure Pro Laser Session

PicoSure Pro laser treatment is ideal for individuals looking to address various skin concerns, including pigmentation, acne scars, and fine lines. Each session typically lasts between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

Before the procedure begins, your skin will be cleansed and a topical anaesthetic will be applied to ensure comfort. PicoSure Pro’s PressureWave technology and specialised lens uses ultra-short laser pulses to target problem areas, stimulating skin rejuvenation while minimising discomfort. 

After the treatment, you might experience some mild redness or swelling, which usually subsides within a few hours to a day. We recommend following our aftercare instructions, including avoiding direct sunlight and applying sunscreen to maximise results and enhance your skin’s recovery.

This same technology is the secret behind tattoo removal treatments. By delivering the ideal energy to the skin, Picosure efficiently shatters tattoo ink and allows your body to remove it naturally.

FAQs

One session takes 15-30 minutes to complete depending on the area of treatment. Numbing cream is applied to the skin for about 20 minutes before the procedure, making it a comfortable experience.

 

Minimal post-treatment care is needed. The face may look flushed immediately for about a few hours after the laser treatment. You may resume normal activities but please minimise sun exposure for a week and apply sunblock daily.

 

You may experience hypopigmentation (a lightening in skin colour on the treated area) after a tattoo removal treatment but this is temporary. Consult the doctor if this happens and he will advise on the next course of action.

As the Picosure is able to deliver the energy within picoseconds – trillionths of a second – it enables the laser to work very effectively while reducing unnecessary production of heat, therefore reducing the side effects.

One session of PicoSure Pro Laser treatment costs $590, while a session of laser toning with PicoSure Pro Laser 755nm costs $390.
