What is Halley’s Pico Power of 3

It uses a combination of the Fotona PQX Picolaser (Pico Laser 532/1064 nm) and CynoSure’s PicoSure Pro Laser (755nm) to rejuvenate the skin, remove pigmentation, and more.

What is the Fotona PQX Picolaser?

Fotona PQX Picolaser (Pico Laser 532/1064 nm) has the highest power and shortest pulse duration among all the pico lasers. This allows doctors to deliver the highest concentration of energy with even more pulses of laser energy to target pigmentation, blemishes, freckles, scars, even out skin tone, and rejuvenate the skin. Only trouble spots are targeted without damage to surrounding skin tissue. This reduces downtime to almost zero.

What is Pico Laser?

Pico laser uses its PressureWave™ technology to deliver an intense burst of energy at our pigmentations and blemishes, shattering them into tiny dust-like particles which are then absorbed by the lymphatic system and eliminated naturally.

Besides having the capability to lighten unwanted pigments such as freckles, age spots, and scars, the Pico Laser is also able to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin to rejuvenate our skin.

532nm wavelength

The 532nm is a short wavelength which is generally more effective in treating skin concerns like freckles and sunspots.

755nm wavelength

This wavelength can penetrate the skin to rejuvenate the skin and remove fine lines to leave the skin refreshed, more elastic, and with fewer visible wrinkles and scars.

1064nm wavelength

A longer laser wavelength that can reach the deeper layers of the skin to treat deeper-lying pigments. However, it is gentle and can treat most delicate and Asian skin types.

Both lasers are approved by health authorities and are available at individual laser treatment prices. Upon consultation, our doctor will create a customised regime under Halley’s Pico Power of 3 laser programme to combine the use of both lasers to treat the patient’s skin concerns.

What can I expect during Pico Power of 3 treatment?

One session of Halley’s Pico Power of 3 laser treatment takes around 15-30 minutes depending on your treatment area. Your therapist will apply numbing cream for you before your treatment so that the laser treatment will be a more comfortable one.

Post-treatment care

Minimal post-treatment care is required after your Pico Power of 3 Laser treatment. But just like any other laser treatment, it is advisable to apply sunscreen and stay away from excessive sun exposure for the next few days.

A cooling mask can help to cool the skin down more rapidly after the laser treatment, while Halley’s Brilliance Skin Barrier Defence can help dissipate the heat, soothe the skin, and reduce redness with its chamomile, witch hazel, and liquorice.

Halley’s Brilliance Super Recovery Cream can also help to speed up skin recovery with its vitamin K and arnica extract.

Are there side effects?

Pico laser treatments have minimal side effects since the laser can work very effectively with minimum heat produced.

Hypopigmentation (a lightening in skin colour on the treated area) may occur after a tattoo removal treatment but it is not permanent. Always seek your doctor’s advice should this happen, and they will advise you on your next course of action.
