Why do I need sweat and odour
Hyperhidrosis is the result of over-stimulated sweat glands, resulting in excessive sweating in areas such as the palms and armpits. While sweating generally occurs when your body temperature is too high or when you are in a nervous situation, over-stimulated sweat glands can mean that you will sweat for no reason.
This may disrupt daily activities and may also result in body odour due to the accumulation of skin-surface bacteria which produce a pungent smell.
How does sweat and
odour reduction work?
Botulinum neuromodulators address excessive sweating by blocking the nerve signals that are responsible for sweating and stopping the sweat glands from being over-stimulated. When less sweat is produced, the amount of skin-surface bacteria, which causes the body odour, is decreased.
What to expect from a sweat and odour
reduction treatment with Botox in Singapore?
The doctor will use a very small and thin needle to inject the Botulinum neuromodulators through the skin into the targeted muscle. Depending on the area of treatment, multiple injections may be needed and the overall treatment should take 30 minutes to complete.
Three types of Botulinum neuromodulators are available at Halley Medical Aesthetics: Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.
