As we age, our skin gradually loses its volume, and wrinkles and fine lines begin to make their presence seen. The quest for smoother, youthful skin often leads to a pursuit of effective anti-ageing solutions. From skincare to aesthetic treatments like botulinum neuromodulators (commonly known as “Botox”) and dermal fillers, we welcome one new kid on the block – Gouri. It is an injectable that is designed to stimulate collagen production naturally to help us recapture our youth.

What is the difference between dermal fillers and Gouri?

Before delving into the world of Gouri or bio-stimulants, it’s essential to understand how it differs from traditional dermal fillers. While dermal fillers offer an immediate solution to plump up skin and contour our features, Gouri takes a different approach. Although bio-stimulants like Gouri does some volume filling, its primary objective is to stimulate collagen production over a period of time for a gradual, natural rejuvenation of our face. Over time, it nudges our body to volumise and plump up saggy skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles to help us turn back the clock.

What is Gouri?

Gouri is currently the only bio-stimulator in the market the uses liquid polycaprolactone(PCL) instead of other materials like hyaluronic acid (HA) or poly-l-lactic acid (PLLA) which doctors inject into our face to stimulate collagen and elastin production across the entire face. Once injected, it naturally spreads and generates collagen over our entire face, preventing skin ageing through deep skin rejuvenation. It anti-ages our skin naturally by restoring the collagen synthesis rate which has decreased due to the ageing process.

What does Gouri do for my skin?

  1. Plump up skin hollowing due to volume loss
  2. Diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  3. Lift sagging skin
  4. Firm skin
  5. Improve skin elasticity

How does Gouri work?

How Does GOURI Work?

Gouri is administered evenly into the dermal or subdermal layers of the skin, where it gradually degrades due to the natural process of hydrolysis. Gouri will integrate into the skin post-injection, creating a three-dimensional matrix. This, in turn, stimulates fibroblasts to generate fresh collagen, resulting in enhanced skin elasticity and the desired skin rejuvenation and skin lifting effect.

How long does it take to see results from a Gouri treatment?

Patience is the key. While collagen stimulation begins immediately after the treatment, it takes time for the body to produce new collagen. Results are generally seen about one to two months after the complete Gouri regime, which can last up to a year.

How many sessions of Gouri do I need?

For optimal result, it is recommended that treatment is done over three monthly sessions. Although results can last last up to 12 months, Gouri is a biodegradable polymer and will break down naturally over time. That is why half-yearly treatments for maintenance is recommended. As with all medical treatments, it is best to consult your doctor who will assess your skin condition and prescribe a regime suitable for you.
